It is a fact that all different types of tea which people drink, come from a plant called Camellia Sinensis and it is the approach with which each is processed that makes them different. When we all know that there are numerous health benefits of drinking tea, it is better to know their types also. There are five prominent categories into which tea is divided namely, Black Tea, Green Tea, Brown Tea, White Tea and Herbal Tea. While the first four come from this plant, herbal tea is obtained from various spices, flowers and herbs.
Different Types of Tea
Some of the most common types of tea that we all consume are:
White Tea - White tea is the one that contains the buds of a tea plant found in the Eastern regions of China. This tea has a very delicate flavour and is quite unfermented. This tea gets a pale colour when it is prepared.

Oolong Tea - This is also referred to as brown tea and is made up from partially fermented tea leaves. When prepared, Oolong tea takes a brown colour.
Apart from the above mentioned tea types, there are some others also such as the Earl Gray, Ceylon, jasmine, Lapsang Suchong and Orange Pekoe which are known for their unique flavours and aroma. The Orange Pekoe is not a proper tea but is a type of grading given to the tea leaves.
The Earl Gray and Jasmine are also not proper tea types but are the ones whose leaves tend to have unique flavours. Another flavour is the Russian tea that is considered as the one that has a very stimulating and refreshing taste and an invigorating aroma.
All the tea available in the market contain more or less, amount of polyphenols, which is quite useful in treating the heart diseases and countering stress. If taken in proper quantity, one can combat various health problems with a cup of tea.
